Card images
Card images are plain files on a separate host, images.poplextcg.com. API responses on plans that include images carry the complete address of each image.
How an image address is formed
Each published image is a file with its own key. Its address is the image host followed by that key: https://images.poplextcg.com/{key}. Use the url in the response instead of building addresses yourself. Published images are WebP, JPEG, PNG or GIF files as supplied by their source; the sized versions in images are always WebP and are cached for a long time because a file never changes once published.
Sized images
On plans that include images, each printing also carries fixed WebP sizes of 240, 480 and 720 px width (smaller where the source is narrower; images are never enlarged) and an average colour for placeholders. See Getting started.
Which plans include images
Image links are included in responses for Pro, Business and Enterprise (by agreement). The Free plan does not include them. See Pricing.
Availability depends on each source's rights
Card images come from different sources, and publication depends on the rights recorded for each source. Not every card has an image, and an image can be withdrawn if the rights for its source change. Pokémon and the Pokémon Trading Card Game, their names and artwork belong to their respective owners; Poplex is not affiliated with them and claims no ownership of their artwork. Image endpoints
/v1/printings/{printingId}/images lists all images of a printing and /v1/printings/{printingId}/image returns its canonical image. A key without the image feature receives entitlement_required. Image metadata includes the media type, width, height and file size where they are recorded.
